Accessibility

We're committed to making Dory usable by everyone.

Our Commitment

Dory is designed to be accessible to all users, regardless of ability. We follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards and continuously work to improve accessibility across the platform.

What We Support

Screen Readers

The Dory app and website are compatible with JAWS, NVDA, and VoiceOver. All buttons, links, and form fields have descriptive labels. Images include alt text.

Keyboard Navigation

All interactive elements can be navigated using Tab, Enter, and arrow keys. You don't need a mouse to use Dory.

Color Contrast

Text and buttons meet WCAG AA standards for color contrast, ensuring readability for people with low vision or color blindness.

Text Resizing

You can resize text in your browser (Ctrl/Cmd +) without breaking the layout. We also support system-level text scaling on mobile.

Dark Mode

Dory includes a dark mode toggle to reduce eye strain for users sensitive to bright light. We also respect your OS-level dark mode preference.

Mobile Accessibility

The Dory app works with iOS VoiceOver and Android TalkBack. Buttons are sized for easy tapping. Gestures have keyboard alternatives.

Known Limitations

Live Map Tracking

The real-time map showing driver location is not fully accessible to screen reader users. We provide a text-based status update (e.g., "Driver is 5 minutes away") as an alternative.

GPS Location Permission

The Dory app requires GPS location access during delivery to track orders. This is a functional requirement and cannot be fully bypassed, but we only collect location data during active deliveries.

Emoji & Icons

We use icons and emoji to indicate status (e.g., a clock icon for "preparing," a check mark for "delivered"). These always have text labels, so they're not purely visual.

Browser & Device Compatibility

Dory works best on modern browsers. We test regularly on:

  • Chrome 90+
  • Safari 14+
  • Firefox 88+
  • Edge 90+
  • iOS Safari 14+
  • Android Chrome 90+

Older browsers may not fully support accessibility features. If you experience issues on a specific browser, let us know.

Assistive Technology Support

Voice Control (iOS Siri, Android Voice Assistant)

You can use your device's voice assistant to navigate parts of the app. Voice commands work with labeled buttons and form fields.

Magnification

Pinch-to-zoom works throughout the app. System-level magnification tools (like Windows Magnifier or iOS Zoom) are also supported.

Text-to-Speech

Screen reader software can read all text on the app and website. We're testing text-to-speech for order updates and notifications.

Ongoing Improvements

Accessibility is a continuous effort. We regularly test with real users, incorporate feedback, and update our practices. This page will be updated as we improve.
